HOST FAILURE

The company that hosts my episode suffered a drive loss and is currently working on it. I was able to upload Episode 36, but we can't download.  Between their backup process and the holiday, it may not be available until tomorrow.  OpenDrive, hmm...

... AND NOW EPISODE 36 IS GONE!  I just uploaded it again and now it should be available.

Episode 36: Cheap Pistols Direct Experience

I got a request from a listener to talk about "cheap" pistols some months back.  I decided to make this a two-part discussion and here only talk about those really cheap pistols I have direct experience with.  Please don't consider this an actual review; I'm just sharing my experience and impressions.  The pistols I discuss are the FIE Titan 25, NEF Ultra, Jennings J-22, Phoenix HP22, Iver Johnson TP22, Makarov, and Hi Point C-9.  Most of these are no longer available new.  Next time, I'll talk about what's on the market now.

This is a re-release.  OpenDrive lost the original mp3 file.

Episode 35: Utah CFP Class

I took the Utah concealed carry class last Tuesday, and here's a summary of my experience.  Also, my Saturday didn't go anything like I had planned.  I had intended to go to the gun show and talk with the inventor of the GhostBelt to see where I may be wrong.  Instead, we made a trip to the emergency vet's office because my cat suddenly lost all balance and coordination.  I've spent this week doing occuational therapy with her, and she's getting better.  Prayers, good thoughts, and healing energy sent her way would be most welcome.

Episode 34: Continuum Continued

Episode 32 was more popular than I thought.  Here I share some listener feedback I got and expand on that.  Also, my friend who told me about the continuum got back with me.  I touch on HR822, sparring focus, and sling (think David and Goliath) construction.

Episode 33: Ghostbelt vs Fanny Pack

I don't exactly do product reviews as such; I just share my experiences and observations.  I also like comparing products.  Here I compare apples with pears (not oranges) when I look at fanny packs and ghostbelts for concealed carry.

Episode 32: Continuum of Force

Remembering a conversation from 28 years ago, I apply the Shaolin continuum of force and adapt it to concealed carry.  At the time, the gradient went: block, check, stun, maim, kill.  That seemed incomplete to me at the time, so at the low end I added in my approach evade and deflect.

For concealed carry, I also added avoid, and elude because discretion is the greater part of valor.
