The first step in making a holster is designing the template. Use an old manilla folder for this and don't forget your imagination.

We’ve all heard about and seen the nonsensical endoscopies the TSA has been performing on We The People who just want to go over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house.

Episode 15: Natalie’s First Shoot
My stepson’s fiancĂ© expressed interest in shooting! Yee-haw! You know I was all over that. I recorded a “before” interview with her, took her and CJ to the range, then did another interview afterwards to see how she liked it. Oh, yes… she liked it. Give a listen.

Episode 12: Bessie Come Home
I hate commenting on politics! I shouldn’t have to, because these office holders should be representing We The People. Instead, they are crushing us. The One Who Must Not Be Named forbade us from buying our own M1 Garands from S. Korea .
Here’s a link to the news article: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/01/obama-administration-reverses-course-forbids-sale-antique-m-rifles/
Before you waste time Googling it, “gleepdort” is not a word in common parlance. It’s an onomatopoeia. Picture someone going, “Gleep… DOOOOORT”!

Episode 10: Start Making Holsters
Cheap holsters are too cheap, and nice holsters are too expensive. Get yourself these books: How to make Holsters, by Al Stohlman; CCW: Carrying Concealed Weapons, by Jerry Ahern; and Gun Digest Book of Concealed Carry, by Massad Ayoob. Find some cheap leather and tools, and get started. This section just gets you going, but I'll keep you updated as I make my first tuckable holster for my Taurus PT709.

Episode 6: Kel-Tec Sub 2000
I was a bit hacked off about the NY Daily News' reference to the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 as an "assault weapon" so I took mine to the range for a visit. I knew I had to sight it in properly after having botched the job several months ago.

Episode 1: Don't Feel Bad
Ahead of time, and under budget!
Here’s my first offering of the Frugal Shooter Podcast. The main topic is Don’t Feel Bad. You can want a lot of things, but the financial realities just always seem to get in the way. We seldom ever hear about the “second best” brands of firearms, and when we do, it’s always from a disdainful point of view. Don’t feel bad. Just get shooting!
While I was dictating the podcast, I was working off a bullet point crib sheet in hopes of being more fluid than I would have been if I had simply read from a script. As I listen back to it, I notice that I flow better when I’m talking about the guns and not myself.
Go figure.
So I hope you enjoy this; I’ll be publishing a new episode every 2 weeks. If you have any feedback for me, email me at frugalshooter@gmail.com.

Introduction to the Frugal Shooter
Hi!
Hi! I'm cheap. Some polite people may say I'm parsimonious, frugal, or thrifty. Nope! I'm a cheap bastard.
... but I like to shoot. There's a conflict of interest, especially these days. This blog is dedicated to saving money, but developing shooting skills and getting in as much trigger time as financially feasible.
Wish me luck, and wish you money saved.
